Peaceland: Choose Your Memory began with Marcia Byrom Hartwell and her desire to help create peace in a world filled with conflict. Based on events in the Balkans, Peaceland reflects the high tensions between Kosovo and Serbia, fueled by leaders who dwell on the past after concealing its true nature from younger generations.

The game follows the story of a country thirty years after a brutal civil war. The player character is a young museum volunteer named Marc, who is tasked with collecting artifacts for the museum’s newest exhibit: the Memory Tree. These artifacts are donated by those who lived through the Civil War, and they allow Marc, and by extension the player, to experience the memories of these people firsthand.
